A Glimpse into Our Weekly Lab Meeting

In our Biologically-Inspired Design for Resilience Lab, we learn something new every week. Our weekly group meetings are always interesting where we talked about various research topics, share fresh ideas, and engage in stimulating discussions. Dr. Watson, our dedicated mentor, always introduces captivating papers and topics for discussion, along with fun activities that make our meetings both educational and enjoyable.

In a recent session held in the COE Conference Room, we explored a paper titled “10 Simple Rules for Better Figures” by Nicolas P. Rougier, Michael Droettboom, and Philip E. Bourne, published in the PLOS Computational Biology Journal. Together, we analyzed various figures, evaluating their strengths and weaknesses based on the rules outlined in the paper.

The meeting featured the enthusiastic participation of Jessica Christa Wira Hadipoernomo, Dr. Bryan Watson, James Hand, Rogelio Gracia Otálvaro, Fayruz Maysha, Julia Gorthey, Dmytro Kravchenko, and Austen Pallen (from left to right).

Our collaborative efforts are shaping the future of scientific exploration and creative innovation through biologically inspired designs. If you have any questions or would like to collaborate with us, please don’t hesitate to reach out!
